The alarm system and cdl on my Turbo RL have suddenly failed and the ignition will not operate. On turning the key the instruments do operate and a gearbox warning comes up on the panel. All fuses appear to be intact. Any ideas?

It does sound like it is an alarm / immobiliser problem this would be a good idea to change this first. Although it would be advisable to have the car plugged in to a diagnostic machine to make sure.
